No concern or assistance for elderly clients.

My mom is 80 years old and has been a loyal client of ABSA since it's inception. She was originally with the old building society before that and has always been with them. Today I tried to help her get onto her internet banking - the password is missing. We phoned the helpline, and when we eventually got through we were told she had to go into the branch. The only branch that was open was at the East Rand Mall. My mom is frail and I had to assist her to go there. When we got there, there was a queue of at least 50 people for enquiries! I spoke to two staff members - no one was prepared to assist my mom, even though she is elderly and frail. The one woman was clearly harassed and not the best example of a customer service agent. She told my mom to join the queue and wait ... probably a wait of about 4 - 5 hours!! We left - My mom cannot manage that ... but now she also cannot transfer her funds from one account into the other where she pays her debit orders. So what now ABSA? You are not prepared to assist us telephonically and your treatment of the elderly and frail during this pandemic is shocking! How does YOUR client access HER funds to pay her bills?
