New VAF not feedback provided after sending the documents

I app**** for vehicle finance and received a provisional approval. I was advised to submit my supporting documents to Zamz Mkhize, which I did yesterday.

However, I have not yet received any feedback or update regarding my application. Each time I attempt to follow up telephonically, I am required to go through a lengthy IVR process for approximately 20 to 30 minutes, after which I am continuously transferred between consultants without resolution.

I am concerned about the lack of communication and the level of service I have experienced thus far, as I had hoped for a more efficient and professional customer experience.

I have just received communication stating that feedback was allegedly provided to me by Zamz Mkhize on 08/05/2026, with an email attached as proof. However, upon reviewing the attached email, I noted that the email address reflected is not my email address. This clearly indicates that the alleged feedback was not sent to me.

Throughout this process, Zamz Mkhize repeatedly advised that feedback would be provided. I was also informed that there was one Credit Manager working on the Durban matter, which was reportedly affected by flooding. Despite these explanations, no formal feedback has been provided to me to date.

Furthermore, I was contacted by a consultant who advised me that Marvellus Chauke allegedly stated that he had contacted me and requested payslips from me. This statement is completely false. At no point did Marvellus Chauke contact me to request payslips.I am therefore formally requesting the call recording of the alleged conversation in which it is claimed that I was contacted regarding payslips.

The level of service I have received has been beyond unacceptable, and the provision of false information by bank staff is extremely concerning. As financial service representatives, your staff are expected to conduct themselves professionally, ethically, and in accordance with the FAIS Act.

Misrepresentation and inaccurate record-keeping are serious matters and should not be taken lightly.

I request that this matter be urgently investigated and that I receive:
• A formal explanation regarding the incorrect email address attached as alleged proof of communication
• The requested call recording
• Accurate written feedback regarding my application
• Clarity on why false information was communicated internally and externally

Zamz Mkhize sent an email containing my personal information, including my ID number, to a different email address belonging to another individual with the same surname as me.

This constitutes a serious violation of my right to privacy and raises significant concerns regarding ABSA’s handling of personal information and compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

The level of carelessness demonstrated in the handling of this matter is beyond unacceptable and deeply concerning for an institution entrusted with sensitive customer information.

Furthermore, I have continued to receive multiple automated system-generated emails stating that my matter will be resolved, despite the communication containing incorrect dates and inaccurate information.

Kindly refrain from sending any further automated responses with immediate effect.I formally request a proper written response addressing:
• the POPIA breach,
• how my personal information was incorrectly disclosed,
• what corrective actions are being taken,
• and what measures ABSA will implement to prevent such incidents from occurring again.
