New Unhappy Customer

Ever get the feeling someone is pranking you? We’d expect that occasionally from friends, family or children – but from a bank with over 100 branches across South Africa?

That’s exactly what happened when I got in touch with Absa bank to find out why my card was not working at the ATM. After going into the branch, you would expect the customer service rep to tell me exactly what happened and how to resolve it.

Instead, they recommend him to call the service hotline where he was told (after an hour of waiting and jumping through hoops) that the department who handled these issues, were unable to assist me and reared me back to the branch . At the branch i was the referred back to the Fica Center and told they are unable to assist me ,which at this point i am still unable to transact and my account is still on hold even after receiving a text message from ABSA stating that my documents where compliant

I find it hard to believe that two departments do not know what the other department is doing , worse is i am still unable to transact and my account is still Blocked , I have no access to the cash in that account and the serviced received regarding the matter has been pathetic and disheartening . I have not even been a member of Absa for 3 Months yet and already i am feeling over whelmed and want to close the account and take my business elsewhere .

Some feedback or way to resolve my issue would be appreciated, I really hope someone sees this email and hears my cry as i have posted a complaint n their website and still have received no feedback
