Negligence for not stopping debit order

Last year (2019) my account for my vehicle was settled. I have received the Natis documents (October 2019) and already sold and registered on the name of the new owner. Yesterday 1 March 2020 the debit order for my car payment went off my bank account. Luckily I was able to reverse it but I have to pay the costs. I have emailed and called Absa several times to ask to stop the debit order. They are supposed to stop debit orders when account is paid in full. ABSA please stop the debit order!!!!!!!
