MONEY AND ACCOUNT NOT SECURE WITH ABSA. BAD CUSTOMER CARE

HJ Van Wyngaarden, is an 81 year old pensioner that has had an account with ABSA for YEARS. This account was opened at Oakfields Branch. She gets a Metal Industries Pension, that gets paid into this ABSA account.

On the 4th of September, someone withdrew R 2000.00 from her account. And it was not her, or anyone she knows. She logged this complaint with the branch, who refused to open a ***** case. She then had to go to the Police Station to make an affidavit. After this case, she got a NEW ATM card, which she didn't use, because she is afraid of someone copying the details etc. On the 25th of October, the DAY HER PENSION WAS AVAILABLE, her daughter was driving her to the branch so she could use the card to make a withdrawal AT THE BRANCH, just to be informed that another R5000.00 was taken out of an ATM at Lakeside Mall on that day.

Her daily withdrawal limit is R 4000.00, however, someone managed to withdraw R5000.00 from an ATM, at Lakeside Mall. If a DAILY LIMIT is R4000.00, how is that possible? And how is this "person"taking her money aware WHEN the money is available. And this with a NEW CARD She then reported this as *****. According to Johanna, the branch manager, there is no footage available, so they CLOSED THE CASE. She is 81, and has not been re-reimbursed for both cases where money has been taken from her account **********ly.

Today, someone called her, and because she asked who she was speaking to, the phone was put down in her ear.

This is unacceptable. R7000.00 in total, within less than a month, two different ATM cards, two different ATM's and a withdrawal that is a ABOVE her daily withdrawal limit.

And because she's old she is being treated rudely, and not being assisted.

Pathetic!

UNBELIEVABLE. She gets a call from the complaints department, stating that the initial R2000 will be refunded, provided she accepts that the R5000 will not be refunded. The R5000 was withdrawn from an ATM that is FAR from her house, with a card that was IN HER HANDBAG at the time. Her daily withdrawal limit being R4000. THE MOST SUSPECT ********** TRANSACTION NOT BEING REFUNDED. HOW DO YOU WITHDRAW R5000 WHEN THE LIMIT IS SET AT R4000? SO MONEY IS NOT SAFE AT ABSA. NO WONDER THEY WERE RATED THE WORST BANK WITH THE MOST COMPLAINTS! PATHETIC!!

And then she gets told to take it up with the Ombudsman. That is EXACTLY what we will do.
Worst service ever. Closing the account as well!
