Mismatched account assignment
I do require assistance after I received an SMS that my contact number has now been assigned to a Ms/Mr Phiri in Ottosdal and there is a substantial amount of money in this account. I immediately went to ABSA Eastgate to resolve this matter. I could not be assisted as the consultant said due to this account not being mine they could not access it. I do not understand how ABSA could so easily assign my telephone number to a different account. I am now locked out of my account and cannot get access to internet banking. I now have no idea how to get this matter resolved. Kindly assist. I should mention as well, this account is under my "mentally unstable" sister but I have power attorney over her matters and have provided proof at the Eastgate branch when I opened her account earlier this year. Thank you.
