Misled when sold insurance

About 2 months ago ABSA Life called me and offered me an insurance on top of my vehicle instalment. I was informed and I specifically asked if it will be an extra R2 to my car instalment. The agent then said yes it will. The first payment went off and it was more than R200. I called ABSA and asked what is going on, they informed it is R2 for every outstanding R1000 on my account. I said that I was not clearly informed about this and want to listen to the call recording. I then had to go to any ABSA branch and request them to play to call me which they did after spending more than an hour in the bank - That is why I don’t bank with ABSA..... On the call you can hear me asking the consultant if they are going to add the R2 to my current instalment and he says yes. He was not clear when mentioning the R2 is for R1000 outstanding. The staff member in the bank agreed that he was not clear and I could not make a proper informed decision. He mislead me into thinking it is R2 extra. I then called ABSA again and asked them to give me what I was offered they refused, I asked to cancel and be refunded for the premium. I was asked to email them, which I did, and no response after 2 weeks. I called again and asked if my account is cancelled the agent then said no it is not cancelled and takes 30 days. In the interim another instalment went off my account. I asked the agent if they received my email as I received no response from the first one, she said he can’t tell but I can email them again….really???? They did not acknowledge my first email how will the reply to the second one. So now I am sitting here in the dark not knowing if the account will be cancelled or not. I feel like taking this to the Ombudsman and demand that they give me what was offered to me at point of sale. For now will someone at ABSA please resolve this for me now, and at least let me know what the hell is happening?

*** It would have been nicer to receive a call from you instead of a reply online.
