Major Inconvenienced by Absa _ Delays in receiving funds

I had an account with absa years ago and closed it because I was unhappy with the service I received from Absa, I still had a 32 day notice (savings) account which I decided to get my funds from and closed down, I called Absa to put in a notice on the 15th June 2017 and was told I can collect the money from any Absa bank and I needed to bring my only my ID along, the funds will be ready on the 16th July, as the 16th was on a Sunday I decided to go on Monday the 17th. Only then was I told that there is a hold on my account as my FICA was not updated, I submitted the required docs and to date I am still waiting. My greatest frustration is that I had planned with the money and made commitments based on the fact that I will received the funds on the said date, this is not what I expected when I invested my money years back. Now the waiting period is more that the 32 days mentioned, all of this just reminds me why I don't want to bank with absa ever again.

Got a reply form Absa, and my query was resolved. I do not regret my decision to stop banking with absa at all, the person who called me from absa this morning should not be a in customer service at all, as i was trying to explain my frustration to her she said and I quote "lets cut to the chase...". now, that to me is absolutely rude and very condenscending. What that simply said to me was that I shouldn't bore her with my explanations, shocking behavior for a someone who was meant to resolve my query, I couldn't even get to a point of explaining that I got an sms in the morning already that my fica was sorted. I do not ever want to have any dealings with absa ever again.
