Lockdown Decline

Today i app**** for an ABSA credit card at around 10:30 and was pre approved (application reference number is ***). Just when i was busy scanning the required documents, i received a call from *** from an anonymous guy ( he didn't say his name) and didn't give me a chance to ask for his name. He was rude and questioned why i had not used my alternative number to apply,like it's his choice. He then dropped the phone and called me on his favourite number and declined my application. Does this really make sense? Can anyone from ABSA listen to our call conversation and tell me whether the guy is normal? Why are we getting anonymous callers from ABSA? Is this ABSA's strategy to decline their clients? why not remove online application at once.
