Absa finances our vehicle. Over the last year we requested them to move debit order date 26 times.... Which to date, they still have not done. Two weeks ago my husband phoned Absa, spoke to Shantelle Johnson. He advised her of this issue... Lets hope it has been sorted. Further he asked her regarding Covid relief... She said that he would not qualify as he was in arrears with payments. She advised that if he paid the full outstanding amount, he would qualify for relief, she would make sure of that. My husband paid the LAST of his salary and settled the entire amount in arrears. Shantelle confirmed that she noted monies have been received and confirmed all in order with relief. My husband requested sms or email confirmation of both. We still have not received same. After a week my husband received a sms from Absa advising that he does not qualify for relief.... A second sms confirmed that he does qualify and a third sms, again, that he does not qualify. After speaking to Shantelle again, we realized that we have been fooled. absa and its employees lie about relief so that they can get their monies. Even when they know that there will be no further income for their clients due to lock down they take what they can!!!? Absa is as ******* as the goverment. Once lock down is over we will have our vehicle re-financed by a bank that does not lie to their clients.
