*******, leaving customers without enough money to service their monthly commitments.
On the 18th of December 2023 Absa charged me R300 for two unsuccessful debit orders. I emailed and called the service providers and they confirmed that they acted within the Debi-check regulations by tracking my account until there is sufficient funds. However, Absa decided to debit my account when my account had no money so that they can charge me fees. This is an unacceptable practice. I demand those fees be reversed with immediate effect.
I was also informed by the service providers that Absa charges some clients for tracking their accounts? Where is this clause? I never signed any clause from Absa stating that i will be charged for tracking.
Reverse those fund.

Who should cover these fees? Because both of you claim you did nothing wrong.
AS CUSTOMER I MUST SUFER FOR FEES THAT were generated unfairly?
We as consumers are not protected at all and these companies are taking advantage of us.

In response to your Hello Peter Complaint received on 20 December 2023, we contacted you on 21 December with the below feedback:
Capfin raised your debit order on 18 December in accordance with the Debi-check regulations and in line with current industry practice.
Please note that the Debi-check rules specify how the Debi-check debit orders may be collected; part of this allows Capfin to track the account up to 10 days for funds that can fulfil the instalment amount.
We confirm that early deductions/tracking should not attract bank fees; any bank fees incurred, are a result of the type of account or profile you have with your bank.
Due to this, we are unable to refund the bank charges incurred as Capfin raised your debit order in line with the current industry practise and the Debi-check rules.
Should you require any further assistance or information, please email us on *** or alternatively, contact us on ***.
Kind regards
