Its not easy as they claim it to be

<p>I recently opened a MEGAU account for my son over the phone with ABSA bank. They asked for all the KYC documents and I emailed the documents to them. However to my suprise when I went to the branch to collect the card I was told that they cannot accept my BANKMED statement as proof of address however it is not older than three months, it was the most recent statement I received. I was even told that I will not get the ***gybank as I opened the account online. I stood in the ques for 30 minutes first of all just to be told that I wont be activating the card. The lady I spoke to over the phone made the process sound so easy but I got the worst service ever. Meaning in order to bank with absa you must have a credit statement before they can offer you anything. SOOOOOOOO angry I regret closing the youth accouth with FNB as it was easy and really flexible.</p>
