Is this a ****a shop?

So I am on the ABSA website and I see that I can apply for a credit card. Nice ..I think and say to myself let me build myself a credit record. been with ABSA for two years

I do the online application and at some point, the sytem does not allow me to proceed

I try again and the same thing happens. I call the helpline and nice lady on the phne explains to me that there is some technical thing and credit card applications can not be done online and one has to go to the branch. I am not too bothered by it..these things happen and lady on the phone has apologised nicely

i go to the branch and the lady who helps reviews the sytem and sees that I have two pending credit card applications. I explain to her their technical glitch and she then does another application with me right there in the bank from her computer...she tells me to come back and check a few days later

I go back and she checks on the system and the application has been declined. and the reading on her machine simply gives "system rejection" as the reason for the decline. I then ask for a more specific reason , as perhaps me not furnishing enough docs etc (mind you , i supp**** my passport, proof of res, 3months payslip and work permit -expiring 2021)

She gives me her phone and we call the card guys and they say that , i was denied because i had made two other applications before which had been denied!!! to which i explain that the two applications were due to their system error hence i had to go to the branch and the guy at the other end cooly teels me he can do nothing about it..i should try to apply again in three months time

i blow steam , call the complaints suite and tell my story and two days letter, the card people e-mail me apologising and ask that I submit (once again) my passport, permit and payslips. I do......ten days later, i follow up with the complaints department and nothing has happened. the person i e-mailed to is off sick so noone maybe able to attend to me until she comes back? i find it absurd..

is this a ****a shop where if the owner is not there it cant be opened? this has played out since around the 12th of Dec ....

am not too sure why I still bother any more
