Is Bad ethics tolerated at Absa? ….Utterly disappointed

I find myself with a heavy heart and disappointment at the level of unprofessional & bias behaviour from one of the sales consultant in the main Absa branch at 31 Voortrekker Street,Newcastle KZN. I witnessed an act of gender ************** against my mother as her value and worth was undermined by poor customer service from one of your sales consultant. She was by passed and overlooked when it came to her turn and preference given to other clients again & again long after she had arrived. When this was questioned, she was abusively ridiculed with words that they had made appointments even though we also had consulted with said person the previous day.It was obvious that his intention was to frustrate us and continued to serve other clients that had just walked in.

It was at this point that another sales consultant intervened and came to our rescue.

I address this issue as my mother has been a faithful client for over 33 years and has an outstanding record of business with this institution, holding a banking account as well as a home bond.In all of these years she has never been in this way humiliated. We hope that this complaint would bring awareness to this kind of behaviour which is an aberration from the kind of service that we have always expected at Absa.Clients will always look elsewhere where they are welcomed.

I hope this complaint will be taken into consideration and acted on accordingly.
