I bought my car July 2017. My first payment was due 27 August 2017. Did face some challenges but thank God I've made it. So my monthly statements were send to me on the 10th of each month via e-mail. 10th September 2024 received my statement and had a balance of R12 716.04. 0n the 27th September I paid R6 000. I have been paying from March 2024 up till September 2024 more than my normal installment and have accumulated R3 676.02 advance. My next statement on the 10th October showed a balance amount of R6 751,17 as well the R3 676.02. On the 16th of October 2024 I received from Absa Vehicle & Asset Finance a new payment schedule splitting the amount of R6 751,17 over 2 months. End of October 2024 I only paid R3 400 because I had an advance of R3 676.02. Shockingly on 10th November I received once again a statement showing that I have a outstanding balance of R3 362.32. On the 12th November I phoned ABSA Vehicle & Asset Finance and spoke to Prudence and I explained to her my situation and her reply was that they should put back the advance in to my account. I'm truly grateful for her assistance and she told me it normally takes 3 days to sort out queries. So once again on the 27th November I phoned again and this time around spoke to Mrs or miss Grobler. I've explained to her everything and she told me my request was declined. She was a bit irritating because she just wanted to brush me off. So in order to get my Natis papers, I had to pay that final outstanding amount. My final call to Absa and requesting for the Natis papers I spoke Fanie and even he told me that they should have given back my advance. I've laid a complaint and it normally takes 28 days for the final results. I've requested my full payment history and received it in minutes, thanx Fanie and Prudence.I had to wait extra days for the Natis papers and it doesn't end here. So beginning of February 2025 I spoke to a lady working at the Somerset's ABSA branch, where I did most of my ATM machine payments, asking for help. She gladly listened to my complaint and promised to see if she could assist. Later mid February she told me the person (Grobler) work with the accounts was on leave and would be back on the 28th of February .a couple of weeks passed. So this is Grobler's final say on the matter because I didn't have a debit order in place (R5 215.67) and what ever cash payments where made at the ATM (amount more than instalment) I get penalized because the system doesn't recognise cash payments but calculations were made upon cash received. The system (Grobler) ,any PC, computer needs a set of hands to operate it. So disappointed that you send all the updates every month and even demanded that last payment in November 2024. Thanx for telling me that now I can go to the ombudsman. Regards. MM Peters ***
