I requested Ntombifuthi Mabuza a private banker to close my account on the 22nd of September, she confirmed same on the 23rd and send a reminder to myself stating the account will be closed on the 30th of September 2025. On the 1st of October 2025 i noticed debit orders totalling over R13 000 had ran through the account. The account had no funds and was supposed to be closed. Somehow Absa did not reject he debit orders but somehow borrowed money on my behalf to process them. When i inquired as to why they asked i pay R150 per debit order to process the reversal and close the account. Some of the debit orders are for absa products which clearly they are benefiting from and now i must pay for the reversal. They borrowed money from themselves to oay themselves.
