INVOICE ERROR
I bought a vehicle from BMW Fourways dealership in August 2023 and I was financed by ABSA vehicle finance. I recently got an offer from another bank and that bank is willing to finance the very same at an interest rate which is 2,3% less that what ABSA is currently charging me. I requested a settlement letter front ABSA vehicle finance and it was sent to me. I forwarded that letter to my new bank for the deal to be finalized only to find out that the vehicle description does not match the the description of the vehicle I purchased. My car is a 2022 BMW X3 XDRIVE M-SPORT (G01) but the description on the settlement letter does not include M-SPORT. My new bank advised me to ask ABSA to rectify the letter so that it matches the actual vehicle description. I did that and the response from ABSA was that they cannot change it as it was done according to the invoice issued by BMW dealership. I then went to BMW dealership and requested them to rectify the error on the invoice and they did that by putting the correct M&M code of the vehicle on the invoice. I then emailed the letter to ABSA vehicle finance and requested a new settlement letter with the correct description that matches the M&M code on the rectified invoice. ABSA vehicle finance still insisted that there is no way they can change the description and there is nothing they can do about the issue. I am now forced to stay with ABSA vehicle finance against my will and lose the opportunity of getting an offer with reduced interest rate because of an error that was made by BMW dealership and ABSA vehicle. This is really unfair and I strongly believe there is something that can be done for me to get a settlement letter which I can use to finalize the deal with my new bank.
