Internet ***** and bad bank security

Just over 2 months ago we had 6 of our accounts , all connected on one banking profile, cleaned out by an apparent "syndicate". It totaled an approximate amount of just over R400 000. This is small change in the bigger picture of the banking world but huge for us as private people . Two of the accounts had over draught facilities which were maxed out to their limits. On one of these we were aware of the limit as we signed for it, but on the other - our credit card - Absa bank gave us, without us asking, an over drought limit of R70 000 - as far as i understand this is *******….??? Our life and business was put on hold and we have subsequently changed banks and moved our accounts to a bank with a better rating, which by the way is also much cheaper with their fees, while the investigation was going on . After countless persistent calls to the ***** division of which only a fraction are actually answered, and after taking more than 2 months , the Absa ***** division has finally come back to us , the investigation is completed apparently and they are offering to "kindly….." return 50% of what was ****** from us … I find this unacceptable - they offer the facility to look after our investments and income , Absa puts the security measures in place to make sure that our hard earned income is safe , they offer the service of linking our cell phone with our account and yet when 6 accounts are emptied with a string of transactions there is not one single person in the entire bank that is alerted and tries to call us to ask if all is ok and maybe , possibly put a hold on our accounts until they can contact us …. there is something very wrong going on in Absa Shame on you Absa!! We have been clients with you since we got married , we grew our business though you while you made a fortune in interest and opened our children's accounts when they were of age…. and this is how we are treated. Needless to say that has all come to an end now and we will never advise your services to anyone in the future
