Insurance refuses to settle bank after car acciden

I was involved in a car accident in May and my car was a write off. The driver of the vehicle caused the accident when he skipped a red traffic light. He had no insurance. My insurance refused to 100% settle the bank and am liable for 50%. Upon review of the transcript with the consultant they claim questions to whether I was a license holder and had insurance for a period of 5 years uninterrupted were not answered accurately- because I answered Yes. I argued that some information was not communicated to me to understand the consequences. They were aware of the consequences, and if this information was made available to me I would have been accurate. I believe one can make informed decisions only if and when they are well informed. In my case this vital information was withheld. Please help....what are my options?
