Insurance Claim Disaster

Job Card number: ********** dated 19 March 2014

Main Bedroom

Supply and fit 63mm pine tongue and groove (T&G) to ceilings –Done and satisfied

Two coats of varnish to timber ceilings windows doors and frames (tinted colours) - Done

Two Coats Double velvet on walls (tinted Colours) – This was done but the paint job is pathetic as there are still lines where I had done a specific paint job (that Pretorius construction quoted on and when the time came to do the job said they were unable to do it, so I opted for a plain tinted colour and the walls where not sanded to prevent the lines of the previous design showing through. Christo Pretorius came and looked at the job once it was completed. I told him I was not happy with the lines still showing and he suggested that we use ripple paint to paint the walls and this would rectify the problem, and he wanted me to pay for the paint. – NOT SATISFIED

Garage Roof 61.80

Waterproof overlays with acrylic membrane

Waterproof *****s with acrylic membrane

Wash, apply calcium plumbate and two coats acrylic paint to metal roof sheets (standard colours) - The roof was still leaking, and I got another contractor in at my expence to repair this

Main Building roof

Wash apply calcium Plumbate and two coats acrylic paint to metal roof sheeting (standard colours)

The roof over the main building started leaking and I approached ABSA – it took the total of 15 months for them to appoint JBC Roofing to do the repairs.

The Roof was repaired and I am very satisfied with the work done by JBC Roofing, ABSA never instructed JBC Roofing to repair the damages on the garage roof. JBC Roofing has submitted a quotation for the repairs on the garage roof and I do not see why I must do this at my Expense when I have insurance to cover this and the repairs were not properly done by your previous contractor C. Pretorius Construction.

I have dealt with the following people at ABSA:
Maritjie Lloyd – 14/11/2016 @ 10h00

18/8/2016 @ 14h40

Virginia 22/08/2016

Salina 30/08/2016

Tshepo Albert Monkhe 25/08/2016 – he has been the most helpful.

I also sent an e-mail to Paul Berning regarding this matter.

I have contcted Christo Pretorius from C Pretorius Construction on numerous occasions, he would not take responsibility for his soddy workman ship.

I find the service from ABSA and C. Pretorius constriction to be shoddy and unacceptable.

I received a letter of settlement from ABSA on the 1/09/2016 which I did not accept as I would have to get a contractor in and then the onus of the repairs would be on me. I do not see why ABSA employs contractors that will not take responsibility for their shoddy workmanship.
