Incorrect Information provided by Absa to credit bureau
I have a loan account with Absa that deducts via debit order. My debit order is scheduled for the last day of each month. In July I checked my credit profile with Clear Score and noted that Absa reflected that my account was in arrears for May 2020. On the 03 July 2020 I called the Absa Client Services Call Center ( collections) and held on for 50 min before a young lady answered. She indicated that she would have the matter resolved. On the 06 August 2020 I checked my Clearscore profile and noted that Absa still reflected the account as in arrears. I contacted the collections call center for a second time, held on for 55min with no response. I then called the complaints department and was told to email ***. I emailed my query on the 07 August 2020 and received a response that I should wait 14 working days for a reply. As my wife and I are in the market to purchase a house this incorrect information is resulting in my credit score being below the required score for bond application and has prejudiced me in starting my application with the respective bond originators. Today the 11 August 2020, I called the Absa Everyday Banking Enquiries department waited another 30min before my call was answered by a gentlemen who clearly had no intention of assisting me. He claimed that a debit order did not go off in May 2020 and that I was double debited in June 2020. He said this is what the system was showing him. I have no idea what system he is referring to as my bank statement clearly shows a deduction on the 01 June 2020 ( the 31 May 2020 was on a Sunday) and again my normal monthly payment for June 2020 was deducted on the 30 June 2020. Hence my account was never in arrears. They now expect me to send my bank statements and wait an additional 14 days before I get a response. I have spent nearly R250.00 on airtime to have this matter rectified and Absa staff has no intention of assisting. My credit profile and internal client profile with Absa must be rectified with immediate effect.
