I took a loan of R40 000 with ABSA in 2017 June and I have been paying this account every month. I have never missed a month. Today I requested a statement to check the balance on my account. To my surprise the balance is just over R39 000. I am shocked to this since I have been paying this account for more than a year so how come the balance its still high. I called ABSA call center for help and transferred from one person to another after holding for a long time. I manage to speak with a guy in the Collections called Kegen. He said the balance include interest and I said why is the balance high. If the balance is high then it means my interest is calculated using a higher balance which is not correct. I need someone from ABSA who can explain to me exactly what’s happening as I did get a proper answer but made look like am desperate. I am still shocked by this. So someone from ABSA please tell me what’s happening. This is my first time to see a credit account showing a balance that is said to include interest.
