*********** ABSA funeral department

My father recently passed away and had a funeral polixy with ABSA of R10, 000. I closed his account with FNB yesterday (3rd June 2019). I then contacted ABSA and forwarded all necessary documentation so that they could pay the money into my account within 24 hours in order for me to pay for my father's cremation. My father had no will in place but I went to the Master of the Court where they appointed me as the Executor/Authorized person on his estate.

Now ABSA states because my father didn't have a will, they will pay the R10, 000 into my late father's account even though they know he passed away and know that I closed his account at FNB yesterday.

Can someone from ABSA with at least half a brain urgently sort this out and pay the money into my FNB account so that I can sort out my father's cremation????

I have still not been sorted out by ABSA Life, even though i have supp**** them with all documentation that they initially requested. Today (60/60/2019) i received an SMS from them stating that they need me to send them the Estate late bank account with a bank stamp "as discussed with the claims assessor yesterday". Firstly, i didn't speak to a Claims Assessor yesterday, or ever, i spoke to a call centre consultant on Monday where nothing of this was mentioned; secondly, i gave you all documentation and now you require more documentation. As it is already, i am still dealing with my fathers death and have had to take time off work to try and sort everything out. Now you want me to take more time off to get documentation that you didn't initially request and i still have to wait for ABSA to pay my fathers funeral policy out in order to cremate/bury him. This is JUST SO UNPROFESSIONAL of ABSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
