Incompetence in resolving technical issues on mobile app: Funds transfers

From the end of August 2019, I am unable to transfer money from my loan account to the cheque account using the Absa mobile banking app. However, the same transaction is successful using a laptop/desktop. the problem was reported to Absa Private Banking and Absa Internet Bank and although the agents are trying their best to be helpful in resolving the issue, the support from the technical team to address the issue is severly lacking. I was told the root cause to the problem was identified (two weeks ago +- 10 Sep) but the corrective change is still not implemented. This is reflective of lack of customer service and no regard for positive customer experience. The technical teams has no idea of delivering service and leaves the customer facing staff to explain the lack of competence from the technical team.

Problem not yet resolved as on 1 October 2019 as committed by Absa. Call closed on the assumption that their new app will be released. This is the type of service that Absa deems to be "service" to customers - they drive SLAs without regard to whether the problem is actually resolved.

This issue was finally resolved by Absa rolling out the fix in batches on the Playstore. Thank you to one person in Absa (Isaac Kekane) who was the only one employee to take it on himself to phone me daily to check if the issue was resolved. he was the only one of all the people I spoke to who actually provided meaningful feedback and kept in touch until the issue was resolved.
