IIP function failure on last day of financial year

On the 29th of February I attempted to make a number of IIP payments using both the old and new online platform.
After numerous attempts resulting in error messages, I was finally able to process the payment, however without the new online platform giving me the option to mark the transaction as an IIP, the system automatically marked it as a variable payment, which didn't match my requirements.
After spending 95 minutes, at a cost of R166.25 (95 x R1.75), on the phone to ABSA online support as well as the ABSA transaction ***** division to attempt to cancel, reverse the transaction or have it changed to an IIP, I had no option but to reprocess another IIP duplicate transaction later in the day, after the online system problem had been rectified.
Not only did this issue create a cash flow problem, due to the substantial size of the transactions, but the original transaction was processed by the bank as a variable time payment and now needs to be refunded to me by the recipient at a cost.
ABSA online support informed me that the system was having a problem with IIP functionality on the day, but on a later call imp**** I was to blame?
ABSA needs to reimburse me for costs!
