Ignored payment arrangements.
I have fallen behind with my loan and made payment arrangements however Absa ignored the arrangement and double debited my account for the full amount outstanding and this is the second time this happened in this year. Why are payment arrangements being ignored, the inconvenience that this causes is unacceptable. Not too mention the sky high banking charges i am being charged every month, My account fee is being advertised as R109 per month but every month i am charged close to R1000 without fail. This is a complete ******* and this will be my last month with this bank if there is no solution.

28 Apr 2021, 12:46 Thank you for the feedback. Having had a look at my statement I can see that see that R9000 – R10000 were deducted by ABSA from my account of which R4034 will be refunded. I would like to know what were the other deductions for(R4000 – R5000), I should be paying R109 per month for this account but there has not been one month when I was charged that amount, it is always R700 – R1000 a month in bank charges - this is unacceptable considering payment arrangement have been made and this is grossly in excess of what the bank advertised for this gold debit card. I see that the bank continued deducting money from my account up until yesterday, this after I complaint Monday about the double debits, the horrible bank charges etc. I have literally been left with no money. The reason I cannot afford the loan any longer is because my partner was retrenched last year due to Covid and since than I have been under tremendous pressure to keep everything going in the house from rent to groceries to school fees for the kids etc and I have mentioned this when I was called by the bank and MBD attorneys. Please explain how must I take care of my responsibilities now that the bank has cleaned out almost my entire salary? Please investigate and advise urgently on why this has happened and how this will be remedied?
