IGNORED CONTACT AND TEN HANDED OVER TO COLLECTORS

In September 2016 I lost my employment. I notified Absa Vehicle Finance of my situation, however still made payment on my installment end of September and end of October 2016. I kept sending emails, keeping them updated on my situation and requesting for them to please contact me, so we can make some sort of arrangement. Nobody ever rep**** to my emails. And being without employment it was difficult for me to keep phoning and holding on for long periods of time.

My partner decided to help me get the installments up to date and said I must contact Absa to tell them that we'll start making double payments each month for the next year to bring the amount up to date.

A few days ago I was contacted by some collections company, WJ Legal and spoke to Lindy, who has the most disgusting manner in which she spoke to me. Wanting to know my address to collect the vehicle. After getting legal advise, I was told they will need a summons in order to collect. Now this lady tells me that Absa has already started the process. If I lose my vehicle, I lose my current employment as well.

Is this the way Absa treats their clients, that happened to receive a huge (temporary) knock in life? Ignore a plea and hand you over to people who threaten you....ABSA, for such a big name, you have proved to be very insensitive.

I am truly disgusted by the way you do business. And my reason for this review is to warn others from doing business with you.
