Identity crisis at absa

I have been banking with Absa as from year 2004 if am not mistaken.

Year 2013, my payslip was ****** at work and used to open different accounts/loans (capitec, morkels and capri). Cases were opened, affidavits were submitted to those places and my name was cleared.

Last year i app**** for a loan with absa of which was pre approved in condition that i supp**** them with my fingerprints from Home affairs. Hearing that i felt like my identity was being questioned even though i have taken previous loans/ovedraft/ credit card with the bank. I then decided to stop the whole application process due to disappointment.

Today i went to another bank to open a bank account, upon submitting my ID i was informed that it shows that my identity was ****** at absa by another customer whom i dont even know. That person used my identity but with a wrong surname. I was also told that i will first need to update my old ID document to a new one (card) and thereafter go to absa for a clearance letter (spf....something). Absa never informed me of such. Due to work commitments i was unable to go to absa bank today. I am planning to go to the bank next week for clarification.

I feel like i have been blocked by the bank for something i dont even know. Can you please assist, as i am planning to save and buy a car soon.
