I want my refund..
**Subject:** Urgent Refund Request – Settlement Discount Not Communicated
Dear Absa Customer Service,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am writing to formally request a refund for the excess payment I made on my settlement amount due to a late notification of a discount.
On Thursday, 22 May 2025, I called the assets department to inquire about my settlement amount and was transferred to collections at *******. I was informed that I needed to pay **R5,333**, and when I asked about any available discount, I was explicitly told that no discount was applicable.
Following this, I proceeded with payment and paid **R5,340** at approximately **10:00 AM**. However, later that day, at **4:00 PM**, I received an email from Absa notifying me that I qualified for a **30% discount**, which meant I only needed to pay **R3,700**.
Upon discovering this discrepancy, I contacted collections again on **Friday, 23 May 2025**, seeking clarification and requesting a refund for the **R1,600 excess payment**. Unfortunately, I was met with dismissive and unprofessional service, and the consultant outright refused my request without consideration.
Given that the discount was not communicated at the time of my initial payment and was only disclosed later in the day, I believe it is only fair that I be refunded the overpayment amount of **R1,600**.
I kindly ask that this matter be reviewed and that the refund process be initiated at the earliest convenience. I would appreciate a prompt response confirming the resolution.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
