I'm just another number
Events occurred as follows:
o Received a sms to call the centre
o On calling they couldn't tell me the reason around me owing them money
o I said I'd check my statements, if there was a problem, I would pay (if I'm at fault). Not pay (if I'm not at fault)
o I looked at my last bank statement and ensured I had paid.
o I received another sms that I was owing money.
o Then another sms to say my credit has been halved.
o I wrote an email found on website, wanting clarification why I need to pay for interest accrued when VM skipped notification of sending me a statement. Marketing forwarded to Collections.
o Still two weeks later, no call from Collections. I get another sms to say I owe money. Same standard sms.

I don't understand why I have been earmarked as a bad payer, treated like another number with standard communication, and no one bothers to follow up with good customer services to better understand what went wrong and how they can retain good word-of-mouth referrals. VM and ABSA are still making lots of money through their business model - and I the customer am just another number.
