I am frustrated and angry with the Absa ***** department
I live and work in Cape Town 2015 i lost my ID and i reported this to SAPS but never found my ID. This year when i thought that was behind me i discover that someone in Jhb is using my ID on *****. She opened a check account with Absa and i bank with Fnb, she took loans with difference entities and with absa, these loans were paid on this account she opened with Absa. I wet to report to Absa in Adderley street branch, Cape Town on the 16th November so that they can advise what they need from me to start their investigation and eventually close this account. I didn't get a good service because the consultant there only made copy of my ID and ask me to write a statement on a paper. The following day i went to a different branch in Riebeeck Street, Cape Town, the consultant there put me on the phone with ***** department and a consultant advise that they will block the account but i need to call Nelson on ********** within their ***** department who works on application so they can open a case. On Monday the 19th i called the number with no response, i then went back to the branch and was assisted by Ms Janines Stilwaney to get hold of Nelson but there was no response we called the ***** department again and was given another number for Mzuvukile ********** which we tried calling and no response she then send this email:
From: Stilwaney, Janine: Absa ********** Attachments Nov 19, 2018, 12:12 PM (9 days ago) to: ********** me

On the email above she attached a form that she requested me to complete, my ID copy and Affidavit but there was no response from the ***** department. I went back on the 20th November and was assisted by Ms Zelda Webser we tried the two numbers and got no response, we called the ***** department line again and were given these numbers ********** and ********** which we called and no response. She then logged a case to ***** department and also send another email: From: Webster, Zelda: Absa Sent: 20 November 2018 12:01 PM To: ********** ********** Subject: FW: *****/ Identity Theft
Good day To whom this may concern: The client in front of me tried to apply for a home loan for R465 000 and it was declined at all the banks – on Friday she discovered that it was declined because of a personal loan of R194 033.43 and a cheque account. This was done at Absa and the affidavit was done at Absa Randburg.
Please do this as soon as possible because this client is trying to buy a home. The only valid application was the home loan application for R465 000 on profile client code MGOBOAN006.
Please this is urgent. Kind Regards Zelda Webster Customer Service Clerk Retail & Business Banking T +27 21 ********** E ********** Absa Bank Heerengracht, Absa Centre, 2 Riebeeck Street, Cape Town, 8001, South Africa
But there was no response still, on Friday the 23rd i called the ***** department and requested to speak to the Manager and she advised me that my case was not assigned to anyone and took my story, the numbers i was given to call as well as my contact details and promised to come back to me the following week Monday with an update. I waited on Monday because the Detective from the police who deals with this case and the institutions were this ********* took loans they need the Absa ***** case reference and the person dealing with the case in Absa so they can get the information they need but the Absa ***** Department Manager never came back. Yesterday i called the ***** department and spoken with Kiano who advised that it was yesterday that the case was sent to ***** applications department and the only thing he an view is the case ref but cannot view who deals with the case or whether the investigations had started or not. I am frustrated because the other institutions also cant get through with Absa and they want to conclude their investigation and requiring information that i cant give them, as i am on the dark with the status of this case or who deals with it in Absa. I am upset and frustrated with this Bank.
