How to disappoint your kids

We opened bank accounts for our two children in August 2015. About two weeks ago my son (7) went to buy something that he had been saving up for. His card did not work. The same then happended to my daughter (4). They were obviously upset. We had opened the accounts in the hope of teaching them the value of saving money. We contacted the ABSA branch at Fourways who told us that the accounts had been frozen due to FICA do***ents outstanding. The accounts were opened in August 2015, with much difficulty. The only way that the do***ents could not be there was if the bank lost them (POPI wherefore art thou). Now we cannot get the one account reactivated despite having sent and resent the required do***ents. Our kids are disillusioned and disempowered by complete ineptitude, irresponsible information management and total apathy at correcting the problem. Useless - no wonder Barclays wants rid of them.
