How Stapling Your Fingers to Your Desk is Less Painless Than AIMS Client Service

I have established that speed and communication are not the forte of AIMS. Upon submission of my investment I experienced an average service. I opened up a debit order with relative ease using their online platform however all the fund allocations and funds did not pull through to my request so they contacted me for the information, slightly annoying but not an absolute train smash.

After having my debit order run for the past year and a half, I decided it would be prudent to withdraw my investments before the impending market turmoil and credit rating announcements last week Wednesday and submitted a repurchase instruction. After receiving an SMS stating that my transaction was being processed I had somehow planted this seed of satisfaction that I had accomplished my task and that things were being attended to.

On the 5th business day of not having received my money I decided to phone them and ask them where we are in the process only to be told that they haven't started and are waiting for the 21st to process my instruction for my last uncleared debit order. My little seed of satisfaction swiftly wilted and died in my head.

I was flabbergasted that they could want to wait so long for something they claimed on their disclaimer would take no longer than 2 days and not even communicate it to me. It was the equivalent feeling of disappointment one would get when sitting on the Gautrain only to realize your seat had previously been occupied by someone with a sweat problem and the discomfort and disgust was slowly seeping into your clothes.

In the interim I have lost an additional 3.5 percent on my investment because of their tardiness and failure to communicate with me properly. Absolutely unacceptable and not adhering to the terms and conditions of the form I signed, as far as I'm concerned the terms and conditions need to work both ways but of course there is no accountability for the losses I incurred due to their tardiness and failure to communicate, I guess it's my problem.

I certainly won't be returning to AIMS with my next investment.

Reviewer Update

Hi,

Your resolution of the situation really sucks. If I could downgrade your rating to below one star then I would.

I am now told I have to wait an additional 2 days for the payment of my repurchase. Further prejudice to my repurchase which you went and messed up in the first place and of course yet again the promise of feedback that never actually happens, I have to go and seek it myself.

I have been banking with ABSA for close on 22 years now since I was a child and the banking service has always been great but I don't know what this is. This is some other level of bad service that just keeps getting worse.
