How many branch visits does it take to open a new bank account?
<p>I kept being told that the FICA department is still busy and I should return the next day. It is 3 unfruitful visits (wasted time, petrol, money) and I still don't have an account.</p>

Yesterday afternoon Khulu finally managed to open my account after many phone calls and branch visits, however the account is almost useless to my as I cannot even access my own money with this account. At least I am able to view my bank statements now, but I think am going back today to close this account again.

Yesterday afternoon Khulu finally managed to open my account after many phone calls and branch visits, however the account is almost useless to my as I cannot even access my own money with this account. At least I am able to view my bank statements now, but I think am going back today to close this account again.
It turns out the account was incorrectly "linked" by some internet ABSA system. I can now access my money and the issue has be sorted.
