How is it possible to get the simple stuff wrong so often?
So Absa is stopping the VirginMoney credit card, obviously with no fees they weren't making obscene profits. So an option is get a card from Absa, no initiation fee. They advertise a card at R14 per month. I am already a client, so I try online application. The application treats one as an unknown so you have to fill in all the details they already know. Final step, select a card, except they offer no options, only the most expensive card. I aborted the application. Complained. So now I have two cards, the most expensive one, which I never asked for and the one I did ask for. Absa are charging an initiation fee, despite the 'promise'. The R14 card actually costs R44 per month, secret charge of R30 per month added. Transparent, operating with integrity? I think not. Getting it right the first time? Nope, not even the second time. Sad.
