Horible service from ABSA Montana
ABSA business banking must be the worst business bank in South Africa. After receiving an email from them in February requesting that I contact the business consultant in order to update details and FICA requirements, I immediately rep**** with an email requesting which documents they needed, with no reply. I also phoned and whatsapped the consultant to request the list of required documents. Ni reply whatsoever. This morning I signed into our business account just to get the surprise that they revoked our overdraft at took all the money that was left in the account. Consultant doesn't answer het phone, manager doesn't answer his phone and if you are lucky enough that someone at the branch answers the phone you get told that they would give her a message!!!
Except for a generic email from Daphne stating that the matter will be resolved by end of business on 18 March 2021, no contact was made by anyone at ABSA, except for a lady calling to state that the matter has been resolved.
So ABSA's idea of resolving the matter is to take over R10 000 out of our account for the Overdraft Facilitation fee and to reinstate our account. So wonderful, the account is operational, but they literally took the money, didn't ask for any documentation, didn't call or email to say what was going to happen or how much it will cost. So easy fix, customer is unhappy, take 10K from their account, account is open again, life goes on!!! This is INSANE!
They also didn't take the payment of R5000 on the overdraft, so will they still take that? Is that the next surprise?
Also, after the telephone conversation where we stated that we were not happy about the way the handled it, they send a mail stating that we are paying a reduced amount of R5000 per month. It has always been R5000 per month, how is this reduced?
When I called the branch to speak to Alida, I was told that I had to speak to her and couldn't speak to another business consultant, but now it is a stranger who phones us.
Is it really so much effort to contact us in order to sort this out????
Next email is to the Ombudsman
