Homeless after buying a house cash from absa bank. We bought a house from absa bank on auction. They had not disclosed that the house had a existing ******* occupants they they had been trying to remove for several months before the auction. After the auction we could not gain access to the property whatsoever, we had to additionally appoint a lawyer and take on more costs, absa in writing and committed to removing the ******* occupants and to refund the damages and loss of movable assets purchased with the house, they did neither, we have been in a legal fight since trying to claim back the damages has been the biggest nightmare of all with absa constantly passing the buck to different people within absa causing the claim to go nowhere, in the meantime our lawyers cost keep going up and we keep having to send out letters month after month with basically no responses. Absa does not seem to care after receiving the house money in full. Seems like the can just roll over the little people with not a care in the world. They had promised to for fill our claim for damages as well as the cost of eviction but they have shown not sign of doing either. This was in fact so bad that the you magazine, huisgenoot magazine and the Sunday Times magazine wrote stories on my family being homeless after buying the house from ABSA at auction. Who takes responsibility form absa????? Who do you talk to because nobody from absa seems to care.... How many more stories and articles must be published before they take us seriously?? Totally disgusting how absa treated us and probably many more other people like us..
