Highly disappointed in ABSA's poor response

In 2010, a second bond was taken from ABSA for R250K for renovations, they did not send an assessor to evaluate the house when the bond was approved. This bond was app**** through a broker. In 2014, August 12th, our house burnt down (causes unknown) the damages was estimated to the amount of R1.8 million. ABSA wanted to use the amount payable of R242K to settle our outstanding amount of R235K leaving us with an amount of R7000 to repair the house. After negotiating with them they decided that they would pay us out R242K claiming that we underinsured, they then advised us to take an additional bond to repair the house. According to a colleague, ABSA did not comply with the FAIS Act. therefore the case has been taken to the FAIS Ombudsman (14th November 2014). We still waiting for a response from the Ombudsman, we are homeless for the past 9 months and nobody seems to take our case seriously as we received no feedback from ABSA or The Ombudsman. We are a family of 5 and we desperately require assistance with solving this case AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!
