Highly Disappointed

On 17 June 2016 I called ABSA Life to change the date of my ABSA Life cover debit order to the 1at of every month because they were deducting on the 30th 31st when it was not ideal. The gentleman who helped me mentioned other policies that are under my name, I told him exactly which policy i'm changing as I gave him the reference number and he said it is deducting on my Standard bank Acc which is correct. Now on the 15 June 2016 I have another policy that is deducting on my ABSA Bank Acc that didn't get to decuct due to insuffient funds so on 4 July 2016 I got a message from Absa saying my Policy ref: ********** 391 has lapsed. I call them and they said there was no funds, I ask them how can that be it cannot lapse just because of 1 missed premuim they say they tried to deduct on 1 July 2016 I ask them how can they deduct on the 1st meanwhile the set date is the 15th of every month, the agent says it's whats written on the system, but I did not give them permission for this. The call centre agent is the one who must have decided to change this policy without my consent assuming that i'm changing all my current policies. I have been calling Absa and every time i call i get different answers the one agent said i did not pay in May 2016 that's why it lapsed. But Absa got their premuim in the month of May. Absa sent a letter saying that I must have funds in my Absa Acc on 1 July 2016 so they can deduct again otherwise it will lapse., the letter only got to me on Monday 11 July which is too late and they say they sent an sms notifying me of this which I never got, the only sms I got is the one I received that says my policy has lapsed and that is on 4 July 2016. Absa says I must reinstate my policy meaning that it will take another 6-9 months for it to become active. On 8 July 2016 I paid the reinstatement fee not realising that I am not at fault. Please help me to understand this and the 15 is today the actual date it's supposed to deduct. If it means going through call recordings so be it!!!
