I was in a motor vehicle accident on the 11th of june 2021 in which my vehicle was completely written off unfortunately the insurance did not deliver on their promise and jected my claim.
I then contact ABSA to find out what I stand to do in terms of the drawing of the license of the accident damaged vehicle which is now no longer travelling on the roads. As they are the title holders of this vehicle and I am not able to report my vehicle as written off to the traffic authorities in turn the person whom i was talking to told me i have no option but to pay the license fees for the duration of the period while the bank remains the title holder before they will write it off after the bank received the last payment.
I explained to the gentlemen that it would make sense for me to continue drawing the license to a vehicle which is not on the road and that all i ask is for the bank to notify the traffic department that the vehicle is no longer on the road and does not need to be licensed.
He then went on to speak to his supervisor and returning a few minutes later saying that there is absolutely nothing absa can do in this regard and that i have no other option but to continue taking out the license until the vehicle is finish paid off which i have no problem with because i will bide to my agreement all i am asking for is some assistance. I then asked him and his supervisor to put the information which they supp**** me with in writing and they refused to do so, therefore i have come to this platform in order to avoid being on long waiting telephone calls with little to no help.
This is a bank that i have been with since 2008 and its the first time that i have bought a vehicle through their financing department and will most likely be the last considering the fact that no proper help was offered when in need. I guess loyalty means nothing.
Best regards,
