Handling of FICA locked account unacceptable
I understand that ABSA has to comply with FICA regulations but the way they have handled the situation with a family trust account is unacceptable. Firstly, without notice (for the third time now despite the fact they say the sent me an sms) they lock the account over December when it's impossible to acquire the documentation they require since lawyers offices are closed and trustees are on vacation.

Secondly they demand documentation that according to my lawyers is completely unnecessary (death certificates of distant deceased relatives who are on the original trust deed but who's authority is over-ruled by updated letters of authority). Acquiring the documentation has been a long and difficult, back and forth process and the FICA department have been taking an excessive amount of time to process everything. The account remains locked and the situation is such that children's school fees have not been paid and the family's retired domestic worker who receives a monthly \pension\" for basic living requirements such as food has not been paid for 2 months either. This is completely inhumane and unacceptable.

Welcome to the faceless, soulless machine of bureaucracy."
