Gross incompetence

My late brother financed a vehicle through this bank and I have been trying since 09 June to obtain the paid-up release documents from them. The documents they required were couriered to their Estate Late department in Johannesburg on 09 June by their Durban North branch on my behalf. To date (14 July) the executors of my late brother's estate have yet to receive the documents. E-mails to their so-called 'action line" have yielded nothing. Perhaps this is why Barclays are wanting to sell their interest. Gross incompetence.

This was my response yesterday when one Daphne le Grange was the third person at ABSA to request my brother's identity number:

Good day, Daphne

Firstly, I am not a customer of your bank, thank goodness. My late brother was.

Let me quote below a the contents of a mail I sent to your Mr David Botha earlier today when he sent me a NATIS form and requested completion of same along with accompanying documentation:

Good day, David

This documentation was couriered to you on the 09th of June from your Durban North branch under tracking number MANI T A00037D.

I suggest someone at ABSA makes the effort to find the documentation because you are wasting my valuable time.

Thank you

I trust that places matters in perspective.

Thank you

I have yet to get a meaningful response from ABSA.

Eventually, some ten weeks after the initial request, with the assistance of Karen Jonker at ABSA, the executors finally received the required document on Friday, 19 August 2016.

I have changed ABSA's rating accordingly.
