I am furious with ABSA. Not their poor overworked workers, who were cut to the bone, out of pure greed by their Directors! I went to deposit cash at their ATM, just for the machine to swallow my money and declare the transaction had been cancelled.
I then had to go inside the bank, to stand in a queue of only four people at the tellers of which there were only 2. 20 minutes later I was summoned to a poor lady who apologetically checked my account and told the money did not reflect in my account. Now, I'm sent to Information. Information has only one person frantically dealing with a number of complaints. You cannot even send money from one bank to another, like in the past, Oh no, everything is now done at Information.
I fall in rank. There are only 4 people in line. One old lady who can't stand anymore, is pitied by a customer and a plastic chair is brought over for her. She is inched forward until she reaches the promised counter .
An hour after entering the bank with few clients, but an embarrassing count of active workers, I finally get to lodge my complaint.
My UMBRAGE is not directed to the workers of ABSA, but rather greedy management and directors, who are cutting jobs, left and right at the cost of their clients.
It is especially hard for older, loyal customers who are not accustomed to technology. Your treatment of these elderly people are downright ******** and embarrassing!
Everything is becoming digital, but your bank costs are increasing. You expect your clients to do your work for you, but pay R500 service fees a month!
Both my car and house instalments are already at other banks. I'm planning on closing my ABSA account soon.
I've received better treatment at our local Traffic Dept...and that's saying a lot.
Disgruntled yours Mr E. Schamrel
