Funeral policy claims

I was a beneficiary on a policy for someone. The policy was taken on 26/02/2021, the first premium went off on 4/03/2021. As per terms and conditions the waiting period for death due to natural causes is 6 months (clause 2.1). The 6 month waiting period expired at this time. The last premium was paid on 3rd September 2021, and the member passed away on the 6th September 2021. My claim was declined because according to absa the waiting period has not expired yet but the policy was active for 6 months already
