On Saturday 27 Jan my card was swiped at a liquor store without my knowledge. I then called the ***** line to report this and stop the card. During my first call I was told my card and pin was used so there was nothing they could do. I wasn’t satisfied with this then called again. I was then told that a second card was issued on the 13 Jan and was collected at the branch. Surely you need identification to do so?? I was not told by which branch. All branches have camera’s so surely this can be tracked to see what the hell is going on. The ***** consultant said that the strangest part was that no new card fee was even charged. This angers me so much. You trust ABSA with your money then something like this happens. I want my money back and the person found who *****s from other people.. This sounds like an inside job to me. The consultant also told me that the card that was collected was used during the month but going to declined. I am really sick of ABSA. My bank account has been debited by unauthorised places I keep having to reverse the payments, when I go in I am told there is nothing they can do but to reverse the payments and they are working on some debit check system. ABSA this is really bad. Please arrange for my money to be paid back and I want a full account of how this has happened and what steps you have taken again whomever stole from me. Get the camera footage and find out how this happened and why strangers are allowed to pick up bank cards in your name? I will move over to Capitec, they have debi check, low fees and fingerprint identification.
