*****/**** at ABSA ATM (Southdale Shopping centre, JHB)

<p>This is a warning for ABSA customers to avoid using the ABSA ATM at Southdale Shopping centre. Yesterday I went there to withdraw cash on behalf of my mom. The ATM on the right wasn't functioning (possibly part of the ****). When I inserted my card on the ATM on left, the screen/menu didn't respond. I tried to cancel the transaction several times to get my card out but nothing worked - it effectively swallowed my card. There was a guy who used the ATM before me as well as a lady and guy after me - they were potentially part of the ****. I immedietely checked the ABSA app on my phone and found that 2 amounts were withdrawn - R2000 and R350 plus cash withdrawal charges. I have opened a ***** case already. Please can you ensure that the ****** money is returned asap. That money was a funeral benefit that was paid out for my Dad's funeral. I will make sure to avoid using ABSA ATMS in future.</p>
