***** risk: Duplicated credit cards

On 30/04/2017 I found out my credit card expired, which I should have been aware of and it would have been nice to receive a e-mail notification from ABSA or a phone call. I contacted ABSA (***) and I was notified that I needed to provide them with a delivery address and that it would take 3 to 5 working days to be delivered. A week later I contacted ABSA again as I was waiting for my cards. The consultant that assisted me contacted the courier company that had to deliver my card and I was notified that my cards were destroyed as it was uncollected for 45 days+. I wasn't happy about this, but what could I do? So the consultant requested that the cards could be generated again and that I would have to wait 3 to 5 days for the cards to be delivered. About 3 days later I received my card. (Think it was 15/05/2017). Today, 19/05/2017 at 10H18 I received a phone call from the courier company to say that my cards are ready to be deliverd.

So ABSA provided me with false information and my duplicated credit card that I was under the impression was destroyed, were still doing its rounds. It makes me wonder, when clients' bank accounts are cleaned out, if it wasn't because the bank issued duplicate cards?

I also have to add to the above-mentioned, I didn't even sign for the credit cards and the cards were not even given to me. The courier company just left the card at reception. Lucky for me, I trust the person at reception, is the bank not making it super easy for **********?
