***** and the Insolence of ABSA saying when my case if closed

Recently I had occasion to help someone with a complaint with ABSA Banking via email and I also had first hand experience with my own query. BOTH times ABSA decides when the 'case is closed'. I put in a query, I receive a vague, unsatisfactory email response from ABSA and the next email is 'CASE CLOSED'. May I remind you that as the customer, I am the one who will decide when the case is closed. It is closed when I am satisfied that my query has been sufficiently answered. Your customer liaison attitude needs a very big make over ABSA. My case with this reference is not closed and I have sent my return emails to your 'CASE CLOSED' emails, please re-instate the query, especially since your email response states that I requested a service which I did NOT. This is going beyond a joke now. I have asked for the Credit Life Premium on my sons’s credit card to be cancelled and for a refund of this billing for the past months. I see on his latest ABSA bank statement that you have once again debited him!! Despite your 'assurances' that you would be dealing with this matter yourself, absolutely no progress has been made.
PLEASE can someone actually attend to this instruction of mine without empty promises. It appears that you have designated this task to people who are not capable. I guess it is typical level of service we can expect in South Africa.

I will definitely be moving this complaint on to the Banking Ombudsman now because I do not see why I should have to accept this most unacceptable level of service.
