Paid 4700rands on 04/12/2020 towards my absa credit card to bring it up to date after COVID19 relief period. I was even assured that I would reuse my credit card after that. Then when it wasn't showing as credit available I was told it was because I needed to pay current monthly installment over and above the R4700 and I agreed(which in total now I had paid R5600). Today R2250was deducted and was then hoping it would be credit available but that was not the case. To my annoying surprise, I was told it won't be available credit because my account has been handed over to lawyers. I was further told that R5600 I paid in December 2020 was not reflecting. 1. How do you hand over account that is up to date? 2.How can a bank say the payment is not reflecting when payment was made from the same bank. 3.Why was I assured that if I pay the whole outstanding arreas amount I will have credit available after every payment. I feel this is pure racial prejudice, financial abuse because I would have used that money for other urgent financial responsibilities and pay what ever I could monthly. This is gross violation of my financial situation. 1.Either absa reinstate credit available for the amount I have paid since December 2020 or refund my R5600 with today's deduction and go back to the monthly installment of R950. 2. Reverse that hand over with immediate effect. As this is unnecessary tarnishing of my credit record.
