I have a complaint / query regarding Vodacom and also involved Absa.

Since March 2017 someone is trying to do a sim swap on my Vodacom number. To do a swim swap personnel security questions must be answered before Vodacom can assist you. In other words someone has access to my personal information do to a sim swap.

Four weeks back I was told to go to Vodacom in Centurion Mall where they can put a flag on the system for EVERYONE to see – that flag is saying that nothing must be done over the telephone on my number, the person should be told to go in store to do a sim swap or whatever.

Yesterday between 12h00 and 14h00 someone did a sim swap on my phone – even though that message is on the system. I had to drive all the way to Centurion Mall to sort this out. The managers at Vodacom Centurion – Nick and Ingrid was very helpful and they said the sim swap was done by the call centre. Ingrid called the call centre to tell them someone allowed it.

I want to know who at the call centre allowed the sim swap when there is a message clearly saying not to do it, and what is this person’s supervisor going to do about it?

Luckily I could stopped the sim swaps in time every time someone tried to do it.

I also received 3 sms’s where someone tried to log on my Absa online when a sim swap was obtained from Vodacom.

So it is either someone at Vodacom or Absa who is giving the wrong people information or they work together.

I don’t understand why Vodacom allow sim swaps to be done over a telephone????

Vodacom have it on record all the times someone tried to do sim swaps and I also called the ***** line of Absa to inform them that someone tried to log on my profile 3 times.
